1. Introduction

Are You Furnishing a property in Goa?

Arranging furniture for your property abroad can be a joy or a nightmare. It can prove overly time consuming especially if your time is limited to a few weeks’ holiday when you also want to spend some time just relaxing during your stay.

In Goa you will not find an IKEA or a mfi or B&Q store, where you can pick up most things under one roof. You will need a lot of local knowledge and leg work, several taxi rides, haggling and numerous deliveries using rickshaws to find and get what you need or want, and even then not quite what may satisfy your western taste.....

Then you just forget to get one missing piece and need to go back, just to find that the shop is closed for the afternoon…Or you don’t have the required tools to fix the curtain rail or a bathroom mirror and need to buy a drill and a hammer but don’t quite know where to go for them, or you have to wait for someone to come and do it for you when you could be heading to the beach…….

You can also visit one of our show apartments to see the quality of our workmanship.

Although the Service is primarily intended for larger Furniture Pack Service orders ,we can also arrange just a single piece of furniture, especially as an add-on service, or working with you and your choices we can arrange to furnish and furbish the whole of your property, not only with furniture and accessories, but also to do your flooring from tiles to marble to laminated or engineered bamboo floor coverings; fit your kitchen and bathroom(s), air conditioning and lighting. We have a team of trained and experienced plumbers, tile fitters and electricians.

• We can find you traditional or reproductions of old pieces of furniture of your choice: chairs, tables, four poster beds, screens, sculpture, art, lampshades etc.. giving you the peace of mind that you are getting good value for money and a genuine article.

• We can re-produce pieces of furniture of your choice whether modern or antique look

• We can provide you with curtains, other soft furnishings, as well as light fittings and electric goods

• We can even arrange to kit your property with a mop and a bucket to save you trying to pick them up from Mapusa market, and often add this with our complements!

• All expertly fitted with local knowledge

To ensure that visitors are given the time and help they need, visits are, when ever possible, by appointment.

If it is not possible for you to visit us in person, we are can provide a comprehensive service by e-mail.

If you are interested to ship some furniture to your home country we can make the arrangements for you.

If you have something specific in mind and can’t see it on our website, please contact us for more details,or make an appointment to visit us or our showroom in Goa. We have ourselves experienced the difficulties involved in trying to furnish an overseas property in a hurry, with the lack of time and the lack of local knowledge that foreigners often encounter, resulting in frustration and mistakes. What appears to be good value, may well turn out to be a waste of money.

GOAway Homes Furniture and Interior is run in co-operation with a Scandinavian born westerner who had extensive experience in Interior design in UK, and a Goan partner whose family owned construction company in Goa has, over decades, earned an enviable reputation in building and furbishing both commercial and residential property.

As a company we employ skillful craftsmen; from fitters of marble flooring to electricians and furniture makers, whose handiwork can be viewed by a visit to one of our show apartments.

3. Standard Furniture Packs

Although these are from our standard furniture range, all items are hand made and hand stained and polished.

In most cases you can choose your own finish in color and polish.

4. Individual Furniture Design

If you wish, you can hand us the keys, so to speak, and we will furnish your apartment by our designer's discretions and design within your given budget from start to finish.
